I chose to explore Bosnia, a destination often documented by press photographers, in order to discover how we expect to inform ourselves about this region through its mediatised images. These kinds of Icons that emerged from that attention during the war, detached from the subjects, are meant to represent something that does not integrate the photographer s own experience and personal response or connection to the subject. My approach was simply to meet people in their daily routines who are marked by their memories and the History that one is quick to forget. I still wish to recreate links with a country that, little by little, is being forgotten by the rest of the world the more it disappears from the news media.
