'Ordinary family' is the portrayal of a house that is disintegrating, a family is intertwined and an orchid that is blooming. Under this collapsing roof, several generations seem to mix. They all look worried, empty, even lost, and to be waiting for something or someone. Some of the characters seem to be swallowed up by this residence that shows a glimpse of a sumptuous past. This other era, seemingly long ago, is possibly more recent than we think. The orchid, that was brought by the grandparents, and that develops as the various souls reveal themselves and the walls crumble, could be the cause of this sudden decay. This is what the gardener would have us believe, prefering to bury this 'evil' present secretly, and preserve what still can be : family ties and the last wood panels.
