La série « Les Muettes » (2000/2002) se construit autour d’une observation attentive du monde, le spectaculaire n’y est pas spécialement recherché et la photographie vient au contraire révéler la richesse du banal. Les images circonscrivent un territoire imaginaire à la fois déroutant et fascinant, un monde où le mystère des choses vient faire echo à un monde interieur. Les images s’y trouvent comme des enigmes qui n’ont pas lieu d’être résolues. Elles sont silencieuses et peuvent donner l’impression d’être parfois à la frontière du langage, relatant un monde sans mots. C’est en ce sens que le corpus se nomme “les muettes”.
